PRP/PRF Hair Restoration - Sanford, FL
Hair loss and thinning may occur due to genetics, hormonal changes, or with the aging process and results from hair staying in the resting phase of hair growth for gradually longer periods of time. We treat hair loss with a combination of injectable and microneedled Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) into the scalp. Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin is a second-generation form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), that contains concentrated growth factors and leukocytes (white blood cells) in a fibrin matrix.
This matrix allows for the slow release of growth factors, accelerating and maximizing the platelet’s regenerative properties. When injected, the PRF stimulates new blood vessel formation and hair growth. This treatment is an effective, non-surgical approach to hair restoration.
At Elevate Aesthetics, we use the Rejuvapen NXT® Device, which is one of the latest technologies in microneedling and is one of only a few FDA-cleared devices for medical use. Our PRF is prepared with FDA-cleared medical equipment without additives, and with the same system that is used in plastic/reconstructive and orthopedic surgery. Treatments are performed by a licensed aesthetic nurse practitioner, with extensive training and experience in these procedures.

PRF Hair Restoration F.A.Q.s
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is concentrated growth factors from the blood used to stimulate new blood vessel (angiogenesis) and hair growth by signaling the hair follicle to enter into the growth phase. PRF contains no additives and is made by collecting a small amount of the patient’s own blood, which is prepared in a centrifuge. Growth factors and leukocytes are extracted from the blood and injected into the treatment area. The area is then microneedled using the FDA -cleared RejuvaPen® NXT to enhance delivery of PRF to the hair follicles.
Ideal candidates for treatment are individuals who have mild to moderate hair thinning/hair loss that is not due to medications or severe nutritional deficiencies. This treatment works best when there are still existing hair follicles present, so those in the early stages of hair loss see the greatest benefit.
Typical hair growth occurs at a rate of ½ inch per month. Improvement in hair texture and new hair re-growth can be seen as soon as 2 weeks following treatment, with measurable results noted at 8-12 weeks.
Treatments are typically performed every 4 weeks for 3-4 treatments. Maintenance treatments may be recommended at 6-month intervals. Individuals with only mild hair loss may require fewer treatments. Your specific treatment recommendation will be discussed with you during your consultation.
Mild soreness and/or bruising in the treated area following treatment is expected. Tylenol may be taken for any discomfort. Normal activities may be resumed immediately following treatment, with the exception of chemical and heat hair treatments (coloring, lightening, blow-drying).
