Microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy, a skin rejuvenation procedure that creates microscopic channels on the skin’s surface down to the dermis (living layer of skin) to activate your body’s natural healing response. It is also known as collagen induction therapy because it stimulates the body to produce new collagen, thus restoring youthfulness to the skin through cellular regeneration. It improves texture, laxity, wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, sun damage, pore size, and overall skin health. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is an advanced form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) that uses your body’s own growth factors to accelerate the regenerative process. The benefits of PRF include a higher concentration of growth factors that last for a longer period of time, resulting in more significant results with fewer treatments than PRP. Additionally, PRF does not require the use of any additives in its processing. Elevate Aesthetics, we use the Rejuvapen NXT® Device, which is one of the latest technologies in microneedling and is one of only a few FDA-cleared devices for medical use. Our PRF is prepared with FDA-cleared medical equipment without additives, and with the same system that is used in plastic/reconstructive and orthopedic surgery. Treatments are performed by a licensed aesthetic nurse practitioner, with extensive training and experience in these procedures.

Collagen Induction Therapy or microneedling is performed by creating microchannels into the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is concentrated growth factors from the blood used to stimulate new collagen and tissue production. By combining these two treatments, cellular regeneration is accelerated, resulting in smoother, more youthful, healthy skin.
Ideal candidates for treatment are individuals who want to improve texture, laxity, wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, sun damage, pore size, and/or overall skin health, are in generally good health, do not smoke, and are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
Improvement in skin quality can be seen as soon as two days following treatment, and full treatment effects at four weeks.
While results are noticeable after just one treatment, we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments, each at least four weeks apart, for best results. During your initial consultation, the recommended number of treatments needed for your skin concerns will be addressed.
Microneedling + PRF stimulates the growth of collagen and new skin formation and outlasts other topical treatments as this is new healthy tissue. Healthy lifestyle factors (healthy diet, exercise, and quality skincare) will extend results. A maintenance treatment may be performed as needed, but is typically recommended yearly.
For best results, we recommend that you remain upright for several hours following treatment, avoid touching the treated area or applying makeup or other skin care products the day of treatment, avoid exercise for 24 hours, and follow post-care instructions. You may return to all normal activities after 24 hours. Your skin may appear reddened and feel “sunburned” or “windburned” for a day following treatment. Light peeling may occur several days after treatment.
